Diary of a Kinky Librarian

Ok, I have to start off by pointing out that the large black rubber whip (on the left) from Babeland is not a whip, nor is it especially large (although it’s larger than their small and medium “whips”) but it is in fact a flogger. That distinction taken care of, here’s the review.

Our friends S. and V. came over last night to hang out. We spent a lot of time talking. It was, for all intents and purposes, a non-kink evening. Out of the blue, MasterDoc tells me to go get the “whip” we need to review. He has me kneel in front of a chair and take down my pants, something that was embarrassing in front of my friends. I’m not entirely sure why since they’re kinky and both have seen me naked and sub before, but it is a little humiliating to be the only person in the room with your pants down. I felt that familiar vulnerable state of submission. MasterDoc warmed me up with the little flogger.

He alternated among the three floggers, and the Babeland one was definitely different. V. characterized it being a little like having a koosh ball thrown at your ass. The strands are made of the same rubber material. She also pointed out that this flogger is vegan - having no animal materials whatsoever. On my ass it felt like lots of little points hitting me at once. The surface space of the strands is so very different than the leather floggers. It felt good mostly, and stung now and then. He gave me a good thorough spanking and I totally went right into subspace. I really needed the beating. It was relaxing and liberating to kneel there, head on the armchair, as he flogged and spanked my ass. While I wouldn’t want the Babeland one as my only flogger, it does give a different sensation than the others - so it’s wonderful as part of a collection of floggers.

Next, he gave V. a flogging as well. (S. didn’t want to get a flogging, pain is not her thing.) It was wonderful to watch MasterDoc at work. I think I went into subspace just watching him. He knows how to wield a flogger like a craftsman. After, V. talked about how she worried that with the rubber whip there’d be wrap around issues, but there weren’t any - and we attributed this more to MasterDoc’s skill than to the flogger. In inexperienced hands it would probably be difficult to control. MasterDoc critiqued it from the giving side and said it was difficult to get a hold of the strands when he’d draw back for the next hit.

It was amazing watching him, he was really “on” as a Dom last night. *sigh* Dreamy. V.’s ass ended up all rosy. All in all, we enjoyed the large black rubber “whip” but think it’s best as part of a collection of floggers rather than the only one you have. Not necessarily the best for beginners as it’s difficult to control, but it doesn’t hurt too much either.
